The Center for Families - Jefferson County (TCF-JC) is the place where families meet to get information, share ideas, set goals, and make their goals happen. Available to all families residing in Jefferson County, TCF-JC is a unique and exciting place. Many opportunities are available for you and your family through TCF-JC. Because the center is linked with many organizations and agencies in the area, you can be assured of being connected with as many services as you need. TCF-JC makes it easier for you to find answers to your family questions and receive the help you are looking for. In fact, TCF-JC can bring some of the services right to your door!
- Adult Education Classes - Starting late summer 2005, the center will offer both GED preparation classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
- Family Advocacy - individualized support for you and your family. Advocates help you identify important goals and take the steps needed to reach those goals.
- Parenting Support & Education Groups - explore with others the challenges of raising children.
- Small Wonders - A special parenting support service for families with a child who is medically fragile or developmentally delayed.
- Teen Services - teens exploring important issues with other teens.
- Counseling Services for individuals, couples, and families- confidential counseling services to address a wide variety of inter-personal issues.
- Computer Training - Adult and adolescent computer classes leading to certification.
- Life Skills Seminars offered in English and Spanish.
- In-school Seminars available on a variety of topics related to academic and life success.
- Emergency Services and Referrals related to basic needs of housing, food, and clothing.
